Pool Renovations
Pool Equipment Upgrades Wellington County
Variable speed pumps, heaters, automation systems, and lighting. Modern equipment cuts energy costs and adds convenience.
What We Do
Old equipment costs you more every season. Upgrading pays for itself.
We've been installing and upgrading pool equipment across Guelph, Fergus, Elora, Rockwood, and Wellington County since 2006. As authorized Hayward and Pentair dealers and service technicians, we supply and install equipment we stand behind. Variable speed pumps, energy efficient heaters, automation systems, and LED lighting are the most common upgrades we recommend.
We assess your existing setup, tell you what is worth keeping and what should be replaced, and quote the work at a fixed price before we start. No upsells, no unnecessary replacements.

Why Upgrade
Modern equipment is quieter, cheaper to run, and easier to manage.
A variable speed pump uses up to 90 percent less energy than a single speed pump. A modern gas or heat pump heater reaches temperature faster and holds it more efficiently. An automation system lets you control your entire pool from your phone. LED lighting lasts decades longer than incandescent and draws a fraction of the power.
As authorized Hayward and Pentair dealers, we supply and install the equipment we service. That means you are not buying from a big box store and hoping someone figures out the install. We know the equipment, we carry the parts, and we stand behind the work.

Pool Equipment Upgrades FAQ
Your pool equipment upgrade questions, answered.
How much energy does a variable speed pump save compared to a single speed pump?
A variable speed pump uses up to 90 percent less energy than a single speed pump running at full speed. Variable speed pumps run at lower speeds for routine filtration and ramp up only when needed for features like waterfalls or spa jets. The energy savings typically offset the cost of the upgrade within two to three seasons depending on usage. Pristine Pools can calculate estimated savings for your specific pool and usage pattern at the assessment visit.
What does a pool automation system do?
A pool automation system allows you to control your pump, heater, lighting, and water features from a smartphone app or wall-mounted touchpad. You can set schedules, adjust temperature remotely, turn features on and off, and receive alerts if equipment behaves unexpectedly. Hayward and Pentair both offer automation systems that integrate with their full equipment lines. Pristine Pools installs and programs automation systems as authorized dealers for both brands.
Is it worth upgrading an older pool heater?
A pool heater that is more than 10 years old is likely operating well below its original efficiency rating. Modern gas heaters and heat pump heaters reach temperature faster, hold it more consistently, and cost significantly less to operate. If your heater is aging, requiring frequent repairs, or taking longer to heat the pool than it used to, the cost of a replacement is often recovered within a few seasons through reduced operating costs. Pristine Pools will give you an honest assessment at the visit.
What pool equipment brands do you install and service?
Pristine Pools is an authorized dealer and service technician for Hayward and Pentair, two of the most widely used pool equipment brands in North America. We supply and install pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, and lighting from both brands. As authorized dealers we carry OEM parts on the truck and can handle warranty work directly. We also install equipment from other major brands on request.
Can I upgrade just one piece of equipment or does it all need to be replaced at once?
You can upgrade individual pieces of equipment without replacing the full system. A variable speed pump, new heater, or automation system can all be added to an existing equipment setup. Pristine Pools assesses your current equipment at the visit and advises on which upgrades offer the best return on investment for your specific pool. We will never recommend replacing equipment that still has useful life remaining.
How long does a pool equipment upgrade take?
Most single equipment upgrades such as a pump, heater, or automation system are completed in a single visit of 2 to 4 hours. Full equipment pad replacements covering multiple components take longer depending on the scope. Pristine Pools provides a timeline estimate after the assessment and before any work begins. Most upgrades do not require the pool to be drained.
Do LED pool lights make a significant difference?
Yes. LED pool lights use significantly less energy than incandescent lights and last far longer, typically 20,000 to 30,000 hours compared to 1,000 hours for incandescent. Modern LED pool lights also offer colour changing and programmable lighting modes that change the feel of the pool at night entirely. The upgrade is straightforward on most pools and is one of the highest visible impact upgrades you can make for a relatively low cost.
